In the mid-noughties, the Arctic Monkeys were the biggest band in the UK. Their first two singles, I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and When The Sun Does Down, both reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The band’s 2006 debut record, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, went 7x platinum on the BPI, took home numerous BRIT Awards, and won the Mercury Prize, the most coveted award in UK music. By 2007, the Arctic Monkeys were headliners for the Glastonbury Festival — lead singer Alex Turner was just 21-years-old at the time.
