In our last newsletter, we talked about supergroups, but what about power couples? In September 2021, Spain’s flamenco superstar Rosalía and Puerto Rico’s “king of modern reggaeton," Rauw Alejandro, went public with their year-and-a-half-old relationship. The pairing of the Latin heavyweights made perfect sense, but at the same time, it didn’t. Rosie was an innovator, lauded for bringing a fresh sound to the Latin pop landscape, while Rauw’s glossy chart topping hits were the antithesis of that. Regardless, we’ve been eager to hear what a collaboration between the two would sound like.
